"Dad" Gardner |
On August 26, the members and advisors of GW DeMolay took part in our annual end of summer/back to school tradition, going miniature golfing.
To celebrate the ending of a full and great summer of fun and fellowship, 13 members of our chapter and 10 adults made the trip to Mulligan MacDuffer
Gettysburg to once again challenge the course. Joining us for this evenings activities were State Master Councilor Jacob Palo and Dad Palo. They wanted
join our chapter in this activity before they headed back up to Eire, PA for the school year to start as well.
After showing our skills on the course
we retired to the clubhouse (aka ice cream shop) to trade our fish stories of the fabled holes in one (congrats to Matt Maple and Mom Gardner for verified holes in one)
and scores that came close to par. After enjoying this time of fellowship we all departed to get ready for the next days classes.
Thanks once again the Jacob Palo
for making the trip and joining with us in our annual tradition.

A Day at the Pool BY:
Colton Swindler |
On August 12, our chapter had a great day at the prospect party/swim and cookout. Demolay members and prospects
came from Chambersburg and Carlisle to the pool party at brother Swindler's house for a fun time. We had an evening
of swimming, food, games, and volleyball. Our members, advisors, and prospects had a great time during a water war
in the pool in which everyone wanted to follow the big smiley face led by "Dad" Glasby.
We did a lot of other
things too. Ben was undefeated in the washers game until he played "Dad" Gardner. The volleyball team led by the
Baer family won, despite the sun. There was a lot of food, especially chicken and canteloupe (at least until Matt
got in line for food). Logan recieved the PMCA since he just came back from his trip to Australia. Everyone had
a great time.

Oh Those Wildwood Days BY:
Ben Otto |
Over the weekend of June 15-17, the members of our chapter headed down to Wildwood Crest, NJ for our annual beach trip. On Friday morning, half the members of our chapter
departed Chambersburg and met up with the remainder of our members in Carlisle for the trip to Wildwood. On the trip we had 9 members and 6 advisors (we are now up to 3
minivans for the trip) and once we got there we met up with and were joined members of Pilgrim Chapter. The remainder of that day was spend heading off to the beach, the hotel
pool or the boardwalk. To wind down the night some of the members gathered around and played some Halo and other video games.
Saturday brought more time on the beach and on
the boardwalk. Some of the members and advisors from both chapters headed to a water park on the board walk and spent times floating in the lazy river, on the tube slides and
trying not to flip over on the gigantic group tube ride. We also spent time visiting one of our favorite games on the boardwalk, Flipper's Fascination. Where else can you play
a boardwalk game anymore for 20 cents a play?
After we checked out of the hotel but before we departed for home, we headed down to Cape May to visit the lighthouse
there and the remains of a cement ship (yes a CEMENT ship), the S.S. Atlantis at the point of New Jersey. After this we departed for home and are looking forward to next year's trip.

Raiding the Fort (LeTorte, that is) BY:
Rob Otto |
On June 10, our Chapter had an great day at our prospect party/cook out as the brothers from Chambersburg came
up to Fort LeTorte in Carlisle for an exciting time. We enjoyed an afternoon of wetness as our members used water guns, large balloons,
reusable water balls and slings to soak others who approached.
Also, a game of volleyball was enjoyed by many of the members and advisors.
After eating, our members talked about plans for our D&D game on the June 24. While running around the playground and part of Fort LeTorte some
of the members enjoyed the time by playing with a Frisbee in the fountain.
At this meeting we welcomed three prospects: Ben Price, AJ Price,
and Trenton Swindler, who thoroughly enjoyed their evening and are looking forward to joining as members as soon as possible. This meeting was a
successful evening and enjoyable for members and advisors.
